Cutting supplier calls from four to one for a growing accountancy practice
The challenge
A growing accountancy practice was running broadband, a phone system and Wi-Fi through three different suppliers, each with its own contract, invoice and support number. When their ageing phone system started dropping calls during busy periods, it took over a week just to establish which supplier was responsible for the fault.
What we did
We moved all three services onto one Green Star account — full-fibre business broadband, a cloud-hosted VoIP phone system, and site-wide business Wi-Fi — with a single account manager and one monthly invoice. The phone system migration was planned around a quiet week and completed with number porting handled end to end.
- Supplier contacts reduced from four to one
- Call reliability issues resolved within the first month
- One consolidated monthly invoice

“We switched three services onto one Green Star account and cut our supplier calls from four to one. When something does go wrong, we're speaking to someone who already knows our setup.”

Monitoring a network across three warehouses before faults become downtime
The challenge
A logistics operator running three depots across Medway had no consolidated view of their network — each site had been set up separately over several years, with different equipment and no central monitoring. A hardware fault at one site went unnoticed for most of a day, delaying dispatch.
What we did
We surveyed all three sites and designed a managed network with SD-WAN linking every depot back to one dashboard, with 24/7 monitoring across all locations. Wi-Fi coverage was redesigned around the racking layout at each site to eliminate the dead zones causing scanner drop-outs.
- One view across all three depots
- Hardware faults now flagged proactively
- Scanner dead zones eliminated at every site

“Green Star redesigned our network across three warehouses and now monitor it around the clock. We found out about a hardware fault from them before our own team noticed anything.”

Ending dropped card payments for an independent retailer in Canterbury
The challenge
An independent shop was losing sales to a card machine that regularly dropped connection at the till, especially when guest Wi-Fi usage was high. The existing single router was shared between the till system, back office and customer Wi-Fi with no separation between them.
What we did
A site survey identified the exact cause — a signal dead zone at the till point plus all traffic competing for the same bandwidth. We installed a segmented network with the till system on its own prioritised connection, separate from a newly added guest Wi-Fi network.
- Zero card payment drop-outs since install
- Separate, secure guest Wi-Fi added
- Till system now prioritised automatically

“We used to have a dead zone in the back of the shop where the card machine would drop out mid-transaction. Green Star surveyed the site properly and it hasn't happened once since.”
